Velda Louise Skarberg, longtime resident of Grande Prairie, passed away at the Grande Prairie Care Center on Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the age of 81 years. She was born July 10, 1932 in Grande Prairie to Margaret and Alfred Bredeson. She will be sadly missed by her children: Suzanne (Dale) Newman of Edmonton, Lynn (Jean) Chabot of Fort Nelson, Debbie (Hugh) Karpowich of Sherwood Park, and Erick (Kerrie) Skarberg of Sexsmith; nine grandchildren, one sister Eileen Hodges, two brothers Wilfred Bredeson and Delbert Bredeson. She was predeceased by her son Garry, brother Lyle and one grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2013 at 3:00pm at Oliver’s Funeral Chapel in Grande Prairie.
