Mrs. Mildred Viola Parrish passed away on Saturday. September 9. 1989, at the Queen Elizabeth II Hospital, Grande Prairie. Alberta. at age 74. Mildred was born in Iowa. U.S.A. on February 2, 1915, and had been a long time resident of the Bezanson area. Mildred lived at Mackenzie Place since November, 1988.
   She is survived by her son Dale (Margaret) of Bezanson; 3 daughters: Janet (Ralph) Dahlberg of Prince George, B.C., Sylvia (John) Bruno of Salmo, B.C., and Helen (Bruce) Fenton of Bezanson: 11 grandchildren: 5 great-grandchildren: 1 brother,  Meryl (Mary) Patterson of Bezanson; 1 sister Minnie Sackett of Candle Lake, Saskatchewan: and several nieces and nephews.
   She was predeceased by her loving husband Laurence in 1972: infant son William Laurence: her parents. Guy and Bertha Patterson; sister Velda Patterson; brother Gene Ronald Patterson: her stepmother Addabelle: and brother-in-law Nemo Sackett.
   Funeral service for the late Mildred Viola Parrish will he held at the Oliver Funeral Chapel. Grande Prairie. Alberta. on Tuesday, September 12, 1989. al 2 p.m. with Pastor Jake Thiessen officiating. Interment to follow at the Glen Leslie Cemetery.
   In lieu of flowers memorial tributes to the Diabetes Association or the Golden Years Centre in Bezanson, would he appreciated.

   Laurence Franklin Parrish passed away at the Grande Prairie Auxiliary Hospital on March 26, 1972 at the age of 65 years.
   Mr. Parrish was born in Oregon in 1907 and has been a resident of the Bezanson district for the past 42 years where he farmed and did logging. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Mildred: one son Dale of Bezanson, three daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Janet) Dahlberg of Prince George. Mrs. John (Sylvia) Bruno of Salmo, B.C., Mrs. Bruce (Helen) Fenton of Bezanson: 10 grandchildren: 2 brothers and 5 sisters. He was predeceased by one son, Laurence William in 1935.
   Funeral services were held on March 30 at 2 p.m. from the Oliver Funeral Chapel with Rev. Waite officiating. Interment was in the Glenn Leslie Cemetery.
   Donations to the Cancer Fund would he appreciated.
   Arrangements were by the Oliver Funeral Home of Grande Prairie.

Dale Parrish, 65, of Tabor
   Myron Dale Parrish, beloved husband of Margaret Parrish passed away at the Taber Hospital on Wednesday, May 8, 2002, alter a courageous battle with cancer Parkinson's disease.
   Dale was born July 24, 1936 in Grade Prairie, Alberta, the son of Laurence and Mildred Parrish. He received his schooling at Bezanson and resided in the Bezanson area with his family until moving to southern B.C. in 1955. He logged with his father until returning to Bezanson in 1964.
   Dale married Margaret Best on August 3,1968 in Rossland, B.C. He farmed and logged with his father until Laurence passed away in 1972, Dale continued farming for a few rears and operated heavy equipment until the spring of 2001. Dale will always be remembered for his teasing manner. He loved to play cads, watch hockey, camp, attend rodeos, go for dives, participate in senior activities and most of all attend family reunions. Some of his greatest moments were spent with his granddaughters.
   Besides his loving wife Margaret, he will always be remembered by his children Karen (Luke) Girouard, Gale Parrish and William Parrish: granddaughters Stephanie, Nicole and Victoria Girouard; Sister Janet (Ralph) Dahlberg, Sylvia Bruno, and Helen (Bruce) Fenton and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and other relatives.
   He was predeceased by his brother William. parents Laurence and Mildred, father-in-law Norman Best, mother-in-law Mel Best and brothers-in-law Dale Best and John Bruno.
   The funeral service will be held at the Bezanson Community Church, Bezanson, Alberta, on Tuesday, May 14, 2002 at 2 p.m. with Rev, M.V. Begalke officiating.

Margaret Arlene Parrish, beloved wife of the late Dale Parrish, passed away in Lethbridge on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at the age of 79 years.
   Margaret will be laid to rest with her husband Dale at the Glen Leslie Cemetery, Bezanson, Alberta.
   Margaret is survived by her children Karen Girouard (Steve Solic) of Taber, Gale Parrish of Taber and Will (Melissa) Parrish of Debolt, Alberta; grandchildren Stephanie (Jeff) Juhar and their children Savanna and Thomas; Nicole Girouard (Alex Arsenault); Victoria Girouard and her son Zain; Hannah and Matt Parrish. She is also survived by numerous relatives throughout Alberta and British Columbia.
   She was predeceased by her husband Dale; parents Norman and Tremelling Best; father and mother-in-law Laurence and Mildred Parrish, numerous brothers and her sisters-in-law.
   Margaret was born June 7, 1944 in Rossland, British Columbia. She was a homemaker and dearly loved her family and friends. Margaret loved to bake and cook, everyone loved her buns and bread and her ginger snap cookies were always a big hit. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to Margaret.

   Funeral services were held in the St. Paul's United Church in Grande Prairie June 3 for Earl Lee Dorscheid who died in the Grande Prairie Hospital at the age of 50, Rev D Waite officiated. Born in Minnesota in 1919 Mr. Dorscheid had been a resident of the Grande Prairie district for 48 years where he was a well known farmer and was also engaged in general contracting.
   He was predeceased by his son Mark Earl who died in 1964. Surviving are his wife Velna Grace of Grande Prairie, sons Darrel and Danny and his daughter Joanne Marie, 2 grandchildren, a brother Jack and a sister, Mrs. Vira Ladwig. Mr. Dorscheid was buried in the Glen Leslie Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by the J.B. Oliver Funeral Home.

Velna (Vee) Grace Dorscheid, 87, of Grande Prairie
   Vee Dorscheid passed away on Sunday, March 9th, 2008 at the age of 87 years with her family by her side after courageously battling a lengthy illness. Vee was born in Leo, AB May 15, 1920. At an early age her family moved to the Bezanson District. Vee married Earl Dorscheid in 1940. They lived in Camrose while Earl was in the army, after which they settled in the Glen Leslie District east of Grande Prairie in 1945. They farmed for many years prior to Earl's death.
    After Dad passed away, Mom moved to Grande Prairie where she worked at the Grande Prairie Co-op and Karen's Fashion's. From August 2007 to her passing, Mom called the Wild Rose Manor home. Mom had many talents and interests, but the ones she treasured the most was sewing, knitting for her grandchildren and her great grandchildren, crocheting and quilting. Mom's great grandchildren proudly wear G.G's hand made sweaters, toques, mitts and slippers.
   Mom is survived by her son Danny (Janice), daughter Joanne (Fred) Weller, Daughter-in-law Carol, grandchildren; Jim (Lisa), Troy (Sharon), Kevin (Cori), Jae Jay (Terry Cote), Randy (Sasha), Darren (Terri) Rutberg, Jamie (Alvin) Nicolay and Janna Weller (Jason Firth). Mom is also leaving behind 17 precious great grandchildren Megan, Kaley, Reid, Heidi, April, Luke, Karsen, Ty, Spencer and Catcher Dorscheid, Thomas, Jackson and James Rutberg, Taylar, Tyler and Maezie Nicolay and Ryan Firth. Mom is also survived by two sisters; Eleanor (Ralph) Saunders and Luella (Howard) Johnson.
   Mom was predeceased by her husband Earl (1970), sons Mark (1964) and Darrel (2006), son-in-law Gary Rutberg (1974), her parents Myrtle and Charles Parrish, four brothers; Lawrence, Myron, Emory and Melvin Parrish and two sisters; Florence Suvan and Allie Douglas.
   A Memorial Service will be held at Oliver's Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel (10005 - 107 Ave) on Friday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers are gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy contributions to the QEII Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
   Interment of ashes will take place at a later date at the Glen Leslie Cemetery.
