Mary Brown
   Mary Brown passed away December 24, 1972 at the age of 85 years. Mrs. Brown was born at Ayreshire, Scotland and came to the Spirit River District with her husband George in November 1915. At that time with the railway ending at Watino the remainder of the journey was made by sleigh to the old town sight of Spirit River. Remaining in the Spirit River district till 1969 at which time Mrs. Brown moved to the Auxiliary Hospital in Grande Prairie where she resided until the time of her passing. She leaves to mourn her passing, one son Thomas of Grande Prairie, 1 daughter, Mrs. Doug (Alice) Blackie of Ottawa, 5 grandchildren, 1 sister, Mrs. Jack Craig, Grande Prairie, she was predeceased by her husband George in December 1932, 2 brothers. Jock in January 1946 and Edward in April 1961.
   Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 30, 1972 at 2 p.m. in the Spirit River United Church with Rev. M. Zuk officiating. Interment following in the Spirit River Cemetery Cemetery.
   Arrangements were by the Oliver Funeral Home.
