KOCHALYK, Daniel Troy: 1942 - 1997
Daniel Troy Kochalyk, 55, of Grande Prairie![]() In April 1988 Dan returned to Grande Prairie when he lived a rich and good life. Dan was a happy man with an infectious smile and laugh. He brought joy to the lives of the people he loved, and who loved him, Dan was a very social person who loved a great many things. Trains were his greatest pasion. His friendliness crossed all borders. Dan will be missed and fondly remembered by his father Wladimir, his mother June, his sister April. and brothers Greg and Noel, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts. Dan will also be sadly missed by many friends whose lives and hearts he touched. "Requisite to Friendship is the acceptance of each one's individually". Memorial donations in Daniels memory may be made to the Grande Prairie District Association for the Mentally Handicapped. KOCHALYK, Eli: 1924 - 1994
Eli Kochalyk, 70, of Clairmont Eli Kochalyk, resident of Clairmont, Alberta, formerly of Bezanson, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 1994 at the age of 70. Eli leaves to mourn his passing three sisters: Olga Anderson of Lynden, Washington, Elena Tanchak of White Rock, B.C., and Martha (Larry) Way of Calgary; two brothers: Wladymir (June) of Bezanson, and Ross (Helen) Kochalyk of Cranbrook, B.C.; Numerous nephews and nieces in Alberta, British Columbia and Alaska, including local area residents, April Melnyk, Orton Biendarra, and Greg and Danny Kochalyk. He was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Jenny Kochalyk, pioneer settlers of Bezanson; and his eldest sister, Annie Biendarra of Clairmont. A memorial service for the late Eli Kochalyk will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, April 25, 1994, at Oliver Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, Grande Prairie, Alberta. KOCHALYK, Nicholas: 1887 - 1969
Nicholas Kochalyk Nicholas Kochalyk died in the Grande Prairie auxiliary hospital June 28. He was 81 years of age. Mr. Kochalyk was born in Austria in 1887 and immigrated to Canada in 1897. He lived in Sifton, Manitoba till 1917 when he homesteaded in Bezanson. He was active in the community until the death of his first wife in 1945. After his retirement, he lived near Grande Prairie until his death. He is survived by his second wife Alfonsa, three sons Wladymir, Ross, and Eli; four daughters Anna, Vega, Elena and Martha. KOCHALYK, Wladymir: 1910 - May 26, 2000
Wladymir Kochalyk, 89, of Bezanson![]() He was predeceased by his sister Annie, brothers Eli and Ross, and his son Danny. Wladymir moved to the Bezanson area with his parents when he was seven years old. He farmed in Bezanson where he met and married his wife June. He raised his family and continued to farm there until 1972. He moved into Bezanson in 1972 where he worked part-time for the Government of Alberta until 1976 when he retired. He then enjoyed some travelling, his hobbies, helping neighbours and doing various community work. He was a hard working, honest and helpful man who will be missed by his family and those who knew him. In respect of Wladymir',s wishes no service will be held. The Kochalyk family wishes to thank the staff at Mackenzie Place and the Q.E.II Hospital For caring for Waldymir. June Carroll Kochalyk, 81, of Grande Prairie![]() June leaves to mourn her three children, April (Jim) Melnick and family of Clearwater, B.C., Noel and family of High River, Alta., and Grande Prairie, Alta., and Greg of Bezanson, Alta., nieces, nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Wladymir in May 2000 and her son Daniel in December 1997. June married Wladymir in January 1941 and they farmed in the Bezanson district until 1972 when they sold the farm and moved into Bezanson and resided there until 1997 when they moved to Grande Prairie.
