Joseph Gerald Merlin Bandet was born in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. on January 8, 1947 to parents Verla Rose Wilki and Jean Joseph Bandet. He passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday morning. May 27. 2001 at Bezanson, Alta. He married September 20, 1 968 to Donna Doreen Newman. Gerry was predeceased by his mother Verla Rose on February 14. 2001. He leaves to mourn; his loving wife of 33 years. Donna Bandet, son Byron Bandet (Jennifer Carter) of Grande Prairie, grandson Cameron and granddaughter Kaili, son Jamie Bandet (Betty Bakic) of Grande Prairie and grandsons Zade and Hayze, father John Bandet (Shirley) of Victoria, sister Sheron Poirier of Ladner, nieces Michelle. Terra and Teresa also of Ladner, mother-in-law Florence Newman of Nanaimo, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Don and Ann Bandet of Nanaimo, brother-in-law John Newman also of Nanaimo, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Jane Newman of Prince George and their children Ward and Milan. sister-in-law Jean Loehendorf of Prince George and her children Ben and Daniel, niece Katie Loehendorf (Clayton Edgeson) also of Prince George and their son Austin, niece Sheila Thomas nee Bandet (Dave) of Nanaimo and their children Sage and Levi, niece Adrienne Bandet also of Nanaimo and her children Tyler and Tessa, as well as, numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.

Funeral service will he held on Thursday, May 31, 2001 at 2 p.m. From Oliver Grande Prairie Funeral Chapel (10005-107 Ave,) Grande Prairie with Father Claude Lemieux officiating.
